CAS-ual Fridays Stamps: Stop

YAY, it's release week again at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps!

I'm so very excited to share some cards made with the newest stamp set, Stop.

This set is so versatile, I just couldn't put it down! It includes a focal point, several interchangeable sentiments, and borders/page fillers. I'm sharing four cards with you today, but I should have taken a picture of my notebook paper with at least 3 other ideas I have. So many possibilities with this set!

Here's perhaps the most expected card of the group. I've use the octagon as a stop sign (white embossed and fussy-cut) and let it be part of the angled sentiment. The smaller-patterned border stamp makes a great tire track. Simply stamp once, then offset and stamp again without re-inking. Love the subtle texture and interest it gives!

Here's an inspirational card for my 8 year-old baseball player who recently achieved a milestone in school that he thought would never come. I've used the octagon as a graphic baseball. The sentiment is used outside of the octagon, along the path of a baseball that was just hit into the sky.

The black octagon is stamped on vintage fabric. A mask is used to stamp the red "stitching" on each end of the ball, which is really just two sides of the octagon.

On a side note, here's a close-up of the "suburbs." Love the cluster of trees in between the tract housing made by layering sections of the Modern Landscape die.

This card uses the octagon as a pattern ... like on a linoleum floor! It reminds me slightly of the kitchen floor we had growing up. So easy to overlap the octagons and create this pattern. A yellow alcohol marker fills in the squares. The sentiment is used without a reference to "Stop".

Here's a different view to show how it really looks like linoleum. I was so excited : ) I stamped the whole base with the actual VersaMark pad, and then put clear embossing powder on the entire base. The resulting bumpy texture is usually really annoying, but in this case it was just what I was going for. Bonus that it's a one-layer card.

The last card uses the octagon as a Native American dreamcatcher. My favorite of the bunch! On the bottom, I've threaded the stems of the green feather with metallic seed beads. The feathers give so much volume to the card, but still make for a very mailable card.

Inside the octagon I've stamped the arrows from Rad to make the dreamcatcher design. Then I stamped "dream" from the "dreaming" stamp around the dreamcatcher. The word is generationally stamped  until it fades completely away.

Sure hope you've enjoyed the cards from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps' Stop set. Be sure to stop by to check out all the AMAZING inspiration from the Design Team. 20. Sometimes I see your name and on a project and start checking out the intriguing way you have created it, Today, I didn't notice your name on the projects, i was just mesmerized by the projects themselves. Each of these four is so brilliantly different from the one beside it. Tire treads from a border stamp? An octagonal baseball? A linoleum floor? All fabulous, but the dreamcatcher may be my new favorite of all your cards to date!

  23. You really know how to go 'all out' on a set and eke every last bit creative juice out of it! Such clever samples, every single one so different and unique and you!! The 'classic' stop sign one is probably my favourite, but the linoleum floor is so clever (the embossing powder adds the most *perfect* touch!), the details of the houses and trees on the baseball card is just awesome, and the dreamcatcher one is just so inspired!! Totally blown away!!

  24. OMG... these are all brilliant, talk about thinking outside the box!!! The linoleum floor is genius (sure we had that design at some point too) and love the dream catcher but my fave is the stylised baseball... soooo cartoon like and a great card for a young player :0)
